Infolunch: Minerals for the energy transition: towards a carbon-free society that leaves no one behind
11.11.11, Broederlijk Delen, Catapa, Fairfin and Bond Beter Leefmilieu invite you to an infolunch and discussion on the topic of the demand for minerals and metals linked to the transition towards a carbon-free society.
César Padilla, Executive Coordinator of the organization OCMAL (Latin American Mining Conflict Watch), will go into detail on issues related to lithium mining in Latin America.
Consequently, we will present the first draft of a new publication planned by our organizations on the broader issues related to energy minerals and recommendations for Belgian policy makers ranging from circular economy to human rights due diligence, and a new report by Fairfin on the investments of Belgian banks in controversial cobalt mining.

12.35-13.05: Discussion on draft publication: ‘Minerals for the Belgian energy transition: towards a carbon-free society that leaves no one behind.’ Based on research done by VITO and Profundo on the demand related to different scenarios for the Belgian energy and mobility transition.
13.05-13.30: Presentation of new Fairfin report on the investments of Belgian banks in controversial cobalt mining
13.30-14.00: Questions and discussion on the recommendations for Belgian policy-makers + conclusions
